What Is E471 on a Food Label? Plain Explanation
E471 is the EU code for mono- and diglycerides of fatty acids, a food emulsifier made from plant or animal fats. EFSA's 2017 re-evaluation found no safety concern at the reported uses and use levels. It also asked for tighter limits on impurities, which is why Yasno marks E471 with a Caution for purity.
