What is Hexamethylindanopyran?

Hexamethylindanopyran is a synthetic musk that gives perfumes and cosmetics a clean, lasting scent. Very little passes through the skin, and the effects seen in animals came from much higher doses swallowed over time. It's fine for normal use; people who react to fragrances may rarely react to it too.
