What is Triphosphates (E451)?

Triphosphates (E451) are salts that keep processed meat and seafood juicy and help cheese melt. Normal amounts haven't been shown to cause disease in people with healthy kidneys. The caution is about total phosphate across your whole diet, especially if your kidneys don't clear phosphate well.
